Resumo Descrever a interrelação entre Bioética e Biodireito, considerando sua importância como parâmetro referencial para o legislador brasileiro na regulamentação das questões biotecnológicas. Trata-se de pesquisa qualitativa, baseada em um estudo descritivo analítico documental. Devido aos temas relacionados com os avanços tecnológicos serem recentes na literatura jurídica, e pelo fato de muitos deles carecerem de regulamentação legal específica, demandam uma apreciação científica e ética, que precisa ser precedida de um debate acerca dos princípios que devem servir de parâmetros referenciais para o legislador. Reafirma-se a necessidade da intervenção do direito para regular as questões Bioéticas de forma legítima e suficiente, impondo limites e freios à atuação da biotecnologia, à luz de valores intrinsecamente humanos.

Abstract To describe the interrelationship between bioethics and biolaw, considering its importance as a reference parameter for the Brazilian legislator in the regulation of biotechnological issues. This is a qualitative study, based on a descriptive analytical documentary. Issues related to technological advances are recent in the legal literature and considering the lack of regulation, there is a need for scientific and ethics assessment, which must be preceded by a debate about the principles that should serve as references to the legislature. Authors reaffirm the need for law intervention in the regulation of bioethical issues, establishing the limits for biotechnology in the light of intrinsically human values.
