Resumo O presente estudo tem o enfoque das subespecialidades da cirurgia plástica: a reparadora e a estética, trazendo à discussão o enquadramento de ambas subespecialidades como obrigação de meio e não de resultado. Assim, equiparou-se aqui a cirurgia plástica às demais especialidades médica. Para isso, fez-se uma revisão de literatura baseada no Código de Defesa do Consumidor, em livros e jurisprudências.

Abstract This study focus on the subspecialties of plastic surgery: reconstructive and aesthetic, bringing to discussion the framework of both subspecialties as obligation of mean instead of result. So, the plastic surgery was matched here to other medical specialties. For that, it was done a literature review based on Consumer Protection Code, books and jurisprudence.
